HELP Just put new build together but theres no signal to monitor

Hi guys just finished assembling my first build turned it on but the monitor says no signal. I was building the pc with a step by step guide on youtube and everything went fine.

Specs:

Amd 760k

Msi a88xm e35

Corsair cx500m

4gb hyperx black ram 1 module

Arctic alpine 64 plus

1tb hdd

Ati radeon 5850 1gb

Connected to monitor with hdmi, and yes Its connected to the gpu hdmi. I have also tried connecting through vga, but still same problem

Does the 5850 GFX card need extra power from the PSU plugged into it? do you have both 24pin and 4/8pin connected on the motherboard?

Does it beep?

If not (and the mobo speaker is plugged in) reset the CMOS.

Check that the ram and gpu are seated correctly. Maybe you could post a photo of the inside of your tower in case you missed anything that someone else might be able to spot?

I didnt get a mobo speaker with it, there is a connection for it though. How do I reset cmos? Sorry complete noob here

Does the mobo auto set the display output. Check your display settings in the bios, you may need to select PCIE as main output.
Does it work if you plug the HDMI cable into the mobo?

Plugged hdmi into mobo, same thing. I cant even get into bios the monitor instantly says no signal

One thing im a bit unsure of is there are two pci e connectors plugged into my gpu and on both connectors there are two cables hanging off them which have two pins each, these are currently not connected, is this a problem?

As mentioned earlier, check all cables,etc, are properly seated.
Are you seeing any red lights on the mobo? If so, where?
You could also try connecting via vga or dvi, as it could be a faulty HDMI cable or a fault with the monitor's HDMI port.

Finally working

I just took it all apart and rebuilt. I dont know how many of you actualy enjoy the building part, I found it very frustrating lol. Thanks for the help guys, no doubt il be here asking for more assistance soon.
