HELP!! Just Wiped an HDD

OK, was using Disk Part from command prompt to put win 7 CD on USB.

Selected the wrong disk after displaying the list of disks. I then cleaned it, and realised my error.

So, is there a means to recover it?? 300GB with 16GB free, a lot to lose, though nothing critical.

Have a look at TestDisk or Recuva. You'll need to recreate the partition data.

Testdisk should be able to do it, just make sure you're working on the right disk

Testdisk is likely to manage this. Don't write anything at all to the drive before the partition table is back in place.

It's a good thing that you didn't reformat it, though testdisk has a decent chance of working even if you did. Good program.

Don't worry I've done something very similar before, as long as you haven't written anything to the disc most decent programs can identify and recover the partition data or the data.

GET ON!! Recovered everything (well, in progress right now, stupid slow HDD), amazing little utility!
