Why clean it if you blank it off?
It appears soedit/ some EGR valves can just be blanked off without worrying about warning lights but others have an electrical connection that needs something doing to it, can't remember what, might just need to be terminated.
Yeah, I should have really, but I forgot as I wasn't doing the work myself.You'd want to clean the inlet manifold if possible.
Thanks for the advice so far, still not sure were it is though, up A or down B?
I don't want to take the valve off just spray in the pipe leading to the valve.
Could I remove the pipe at B on my diagram and spray inside to reach the valve?

You need to do more than just spray it, here's a good cleaning guide, it's for a Mondeo with a front mounted EGR but the same principle's apply.
