Hi people
Ive never order parts from OCuk online before, normally get the parts from a shop at inflated prices

Anyway I got to build a COMPUTER for a work mate and I have a budget of 400, thats without windows. So with 470...

All she's gonna use it for is surfing the web and office programs.

She just wants a quick PC

----------------------------------
Its been like 5years since I last build a computer so looking for a simple job, if this goes well Im going to upgrade my Dell ****. :D

I just need help with what parts to get:
THANKS

If she needs monitor+keyboard+mouse

If she doesn't... just knock the monitor+keyboard+mouse off and save £100: she doesn't need any more than that for internet+office work, any more would be a waste.

I might be tempted to swap the HDD for the 500GB samsung though for an extra £8: it's a bit quicker than the 320GB version.

DDR2 Motherboard ;)

Ya sorry the **** lol bad me :D

Ya just the tower. My goal is fast hear. Was gonna go for the pre-build and just instail windows. But I coulld get more for her money if i go it alone :(

Hey, at least it'd liven up the build, eh? There's not a huge difference between AM2+ and AM3 boards in price though... I was looking at DDR2 to keep it right down, then realised DDR3 is as cheap now (or rather, DDR2 has gone up a lot)

The one I have suggested will on board gpu which will be fine for web surfing ect, if the person wants to game then a slightly better gpu will be needed.

CAT-THE-FIFTH motherboard suggestion will require a separate gpu.

There's absolutely no point having a dedicated graphics card for web+office work: it'll just create noise, use more electricity and be something extra to go wrong.

The 785G will more than do the job. The only reason I suggested the 770 based motherboard was due to the USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0 support as this would be useful to have especially if the PC is going to be used for a few years.
