So my 280x toxic arrived today

Put it in and blank screen

Tried uninstalling previous card drivers (6970) and still doesnt work

It detects my old card and runs in low res but will not display the new card!!!

Have overclockers sent me a dud?

Have you got the latest BIOS for your motherboard? Seems it's common for some cards to cease to work unless the BIOS is fully updated.

Give it a go before you RMA it.

Do you see the BIOS screen when you fire it up? If so, it will probably be a case of updating the Motherboard BIOS and off you go but if not, it could be a DOA.

I removed catalyst control center and then removed the display adapter.

I also downloaded the package from amd for the new card and set a short cut for it but amd and there stupid programing, you cant push enter you have to click to continue. Grrr so ****ed off been doing this for hours now

errrm no not really, this card wont fit in any of my friends computers.

I have the newest bios, it runs my old card without the drivers at all yet this card is not displaying anything

do i have it powered correctly? I only have two 6 pin connectors and when i plug it in, it leaves two pins missing at the end? the card lights up, the fans power on etc.

no beeps at all

You can't just leave two pins un-connected - if it has 8 and 6 pin sockets you need 8 and 6 pin leads from the PSU

i give up. going to return my card tomorrow. what a joke, screw you sapphire.

From reading above it sounds like user error.

The card as 2 power connectors and if you don't have the required power cables with the right connectors from your power supply then the card won't power up as it should.

What is your power supply?

Do you have a 6pin to 8pin adapter? or 2 of them if needed.

OMG That's dusty. Also like rids57 said you need a 8 and 6 pin.. not joining plugs. So it's not the card it's your PSU.

@Gabbatek, I think you need a whole new PSU my friend.
