Im currently stuck at 9300 in 3dmark 05, and in damn well gonna reach 10k if it kills me.

Specs..

7900GS (256) @ 630/1600

X2 3800 @ 2.6

2gb 3500LL @ 216 2.3.2.5 (thanks matt100!)

The card is in the lower slot on on my ultra-d, so the pcie lane is x8, will using the x16 slot make a difference?

05 isnt multithreaded, and i have a 3000+ that will suicide at 2.8 but it might only complete the test at 2.7, will this be any better or will having background tasks on a second core be more benifcial?

Ive been clocking using coolbits, and the mem slider finishes at 800, will riva let me take it further?

Any other advice will be much appreciated!

It might not kill you but your system.... ;)

I'd suggest that you should move the graphics card up to the upper slot to gain the (potential) benefit of PCI-E 16x, it might not matter much but then again it might be worth something.

There is no harm in trying Rivatuner but do bear in mind that if it does allow you to take it further that Coolbits probably has the limits for a reason. :)

Also see if you can disable any extra background processes and maybe experiment with a few different driver sets as that can make a difference.

You can very likely go a bit further on the memory. Anywhere up to 1800 is probably more than attainable and you should find that it will knock your score up quite a bit.

You could also look into lowering the multiplier on your CPU and upping the FSB. You should find that your 3500LL can do 230 or so with those timings.

volt mod the GPU to 1.8v, get it clocked upto 750Mhz

10k broken

[/note - i do not take any blame for the forseeable death of your card at 1.8v if you carry the mod out :D]

Got 9600 by disabling almost everything and a different driver set.

Ill see what i can do with the fsb, wonder what this cpu thinks to 1.6v..

My old 3000+ didn't mind 1.6V either. Temps were getting a touch toasty though

Past tense is because I sold it.
