Help me choose a camera for Cheronbyl tour

Went to a specialist camera shop and after going through a Canon 700D, a Nikon D5300 and a Pentax K50 I went for the Pentax. Was the cheapest but that wasn't really why I chose it, I was pretty sold on the Nikon until I picked up the Pentax. It just seemed more user friendly for a first SLR. The guy knew I would have bought the more expensive camera but seemed to agree on the Pentax.

I had a play with someone's K50 a few months back, It felt a bit weird to me but had fantastic IQ, I'm sure you'll love it.

What lens did you end up getting with it?

Just the kit lens. I got another battery which seemed way expensive for what it is. A 32gb card - do cards make a difference? The guy said something about transfer rates which I wasn't too convinced about. And a lens cover.

I still need a bag. Was thinking of getting one that I can strap tripod too. Although not sure I'll take it yet.

Also, was wondering if I should get another lens but not sure if needed or what to get.

The K50 apart from its weather sealing also uses pentaprism,so the viewfinder should be better in low light.

Did you go for the WR kit lenses??

Edit!!

There is an AA battery adaptor for the K50 too, which is worth getting IMHO.

The lens is a 18-55mm WR

I was thinking if I should get either of these.

Pentax SMC DA 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 ED AL (IF) DC WR Lens

And/or

Tamron 70-300mm f4/5.6 DI LD Macro

I get it that with the Tamron I'd have to be changing with the 18-55 at times or I I could stick to the 18-135mm lens.

I'm also wondering if I should take a tripod - I have a cheap tripod which holds the camera fine. I'm guessing it will be OK. Again, not 100% I'll even take it yet.
