I've been sitting on this chair for the last month (from a popular office supply chain), and really don't like the shape of the back - too much of a curve IMO. It digs into my lower back, when I just want to let it relax into the chair. Also the tilt tension is too high even at lowest setting. You need to exert a lot of force on the floor to keep it tilted, making it kind of pointless.

I'm looking for something covered in fabric and well cushioned. Ie, not leather and not mesh. A high back would be nice, oh and also I'm not too fussed on armrests - I took them off the above chair anyway.
I'm leaning more toward executive rather than operator chairs (so I can lounge back and enjoy a movie or something).

I've sat in this chair and quite like it (again, same popular office store):

Others that have caught my eye are these from vikingdirect:

Rome

Oh and this chair looks very nice, but at £299 is a little more than I'm willing to pay without trying it out first.

I've read that some of you guys here have the Rome chair, and tbh all look pretty comfortable.
What other options are there, bearing in mind I want to keep it under £200 if possible?

I don't know whether it is possible to get executive chairs with tilting backs, instead of the seat and back tilting together, but that would be wonderful.
:)

I realise there are a lot of chair threads, and I have read through a lot.
The thing is ratio of leather:fabric is, I don't know, [guess]10:1 [/guess].
Anyway chances are I will go for that Kashmir managers chair as I have had the opportunity to sit in it.

i have that exact kashmir managers chair and i LOVE it, its so god damn comfortable, so much better than leather (i switched from a leather chair) and given that the cold weather is coming in the leather chairs suck :P

i'd deffo go for the kashmir one

Great, looks like that's what I'll be getting then. :)

The "Markus" from Ikea, absolutely amazing chair, I've had it for around 6 months and have yet to have any issues with it.

I've tried the Markus in the Southampton ikea store, and it certainly is a nice chair. The price is also very good. Just a shame it is mesh and leather.

I've had a kneeler for the past four years, but I want an ergonomic upright now. Shame as they're awfully expensive.

I've never tried a kneeler, though can 'feel' how it might be comfortable in my mind. One day I will try one. :)

Wow, those humanscale freedom ones look the bomb.
Are the ones without the headrest the same as the ones with the headrest? I mean is there only one chair and the headrest can be added?
