Help me choose a good domain name

Again, with no info this is completely generic - you've got some good suggestions for the personal/unprofessional one so I guess perhaps not necessary for you to provide any more info.

For the professional one there are various combinations you can have - for example I use .xyz domain because I've got a maths/stats background, can link to my github etc..

so I have name@[short domain].xyz

So I'd suggest perhaps have a think about your industry etc.. is there a specific domain extension that might work - is your surname available with that extension or something simple/short related to your industry.
 
I came in here thinking I was going to be the funny one suggesting "dirksdiggling.com" but I see I was rather late... :p
