Hi all

I am looking to get mobo to go with

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

So far contenders i am thinking of are

Abit IX38 QuadGT Intel X38

Asus P5K Pro Intel P35

DFI Lan Party DK X38-T2R Intel X38

If anybody wants to suggest different board feel free
I do not want to go into DDR3 or DDR2 & DDR3 combo boards.

One thing that puts me off DFI board is that stated memory
support 667/800 MHz dual channel. Both asus and abit support up to Dual DDR2 1066/800, or am i thinking wrong way about it?
I am planning to use one of PC2-8500C5 modules, but not sure which one yet
if DFI board does not suport that speed it would be waste, or i am just not thinkling right about it

Thanks in advance guys

1st off do you need the dual x16 PCI-E 2.0 slots of X38?
if you do that rules out the P5K & if you don't then it brings in other mobos like the IP35 Pro mentioned above.

I would like to have 2 PCI-e 2.0, i currently run 3870 x2 , but i am also thinking of nex gen crads which will take full advantage of 2.0 slots, and planning to stick with ATI so crossfire is never out of the question, but i will not dismiss P35 boards if price/preformance ratio is good
