Hi
I need some advice please, my current spec is a P4 @ 2.0GHz with 1GB Ram and a 9500 graphics card, running XP.
I want to replace this and have decided to attempt to build my first PC.
Main use will be internet, photo storage, childrens homework (MS Office) with some light gaming (Settlers/Battlefield 1942). I will use our PS3 for any serious gaming.
With regard to future proofing we have recently purchased a HD Camcorder so the new PC will be used to both store and potentially Edit/burn to DVD.
Having read these forums (and reviews) for a couple of weeks I have come up with the spec below....my thought being if I find the 620 is not up to any future video editing I may do I could always upgrade to a 955 or whatever is coming next for the AM3 boards.
Concerns/questions I have are....
1) Is the power supply in the case ok say for the next 12 months?
2) Would I be better to change the motherboard to the Asus M4A785TD-V Evo AMD 785G and try the intergrated graphics card
3) Memory, is this better?...... Geil Ultra Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-17000 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (GU34GB2133C9DC) I almost worry why its cheap!!
4) Will all this fit/work together and do I need anythink extra to build.
