Help me convince my parents

Yr7,8, and 9 are now completely pointless (since SATs have gone). You'll see that when you get to GCSE - and then at A level you effectively have to forget most of whats been said at GCSE!

A young person who thinks he knows more about the system than those who created it? Well I never... :D

It's called the arrogance of youth (yes I had it, back in the day)

Trust me younger people know a lot more now a days. I know a dude in year 5 who knows how to have s*x

Well the concepts aren't exactly rocket science are they? Sex is a bit like asking your parents for an Xbox remote. Simple in theory but uncomfortable & clumsy the first few times.

Stating fact, I'm afraid.

When I was in Yr7-9 SATS were still around (I was last year) and they were used as a gauge for Higher/Foundation courses at GCSE, predicted grades at GCSE, and as a measure of the schools teaching in varying subjects and as a general comparison between schools.

I learned nothing in those years that wasn't covered in GCSE to a much higher more detailed level - and would have still understood those perfectly had I missed out on those three years.

At A-level I was told to forget what I'd learned at GCSE as everything was simply too simplified and general. From the courses and exam boards I'm doing there is virtually no overlap of knowledge from the two.
