Evening chaps, I'm part way through renovating my first house... Bitten off far more than I can chew but I've got to carry on... (see sig)

I decided to focus on getting 1 room done at a time. Bathroom first.

Here's a technical drawing for your perusal...

I've pencilled in grey our intended plan...
We haven't ruled out replacing the shower with a bath/shower and using the space where the bath is for storage (towels etc)

We're open to suggestions!

Also, the flooring is 18mm structural ply. The ceiling and walls (once I've dot n dabbed the boards up) are all 12.5mm square edge plasterboards.
Can I tile straight onto the surfaces I have or do I need to treat them or something first?

Thoughts and help hugely appreciated!

Aqua panel is a purely cement board iirc.
It is strong and waterproof but doesn't have an insulation layer.

Ah right ok.
I'll see what my local TP/BnQ have got in :)

What about the flooring? Tile straight onto the boards? The only join that is in the floor space I have reinforced with noggins...

You should be ok tiling the floor if its structural ply.
Would be best priming it first, but that just helps to stop the adhesive going off quick and gives you time for minor adjustments.
Use a flexible adhesive and grout when tiling on wood.
Have you considered underfloor heating ?
We have it in the bathroom and its a luxury I wouldn't do without now :D

We have both.
A wet loop off the combi for the downstairs extension.
The bathroom is electric as a wet loop in the bathroom would have meant too much difference in floor levels and would have been too much hassle compared with electric.

I got mine from an online supplier, cant remember exactly where.
If you are struggling I could search my emails, not tonight tho ;)

Marmox is decent. Used it for my bathroom walls. Both dot and dab to Brick and screwed to stud. Make sure you get the acrylic stuff to glue the edges together. Stops cracks if any is not tiled and plastered

The underfloor heating store looks brilliant. Just fired them an email with a couple of q's :)

I'll be using regular plasterboards with BAL waterproofing (tanking) kit
6mm tile backer boards
3m mat kit

Need to head of into town now to find a shower tray and what not...
