As per title. Look at my sytem in my sig and tell me....

Corsair HX520 - £65

or

Corsair HX620 - £89

...because I can't decide!:D

The only thing is that I *may* go SLi or GTX later in the year, so take that into consideration.

Go for the HX520, sli dosn't work well enough as it is anyway. Your better off just buying the next top graphics card (when its released), and selling the GTX imo. Saves the environment too :)

Been looking on the Corsair forums and it seems to be full of people with issues with these PSU's

Am I doing the right thing??

Not looked at the OCZ or Antec forums, but didn't see as many complaints on the Tagan one.

But, yeah, I guess it's better to be safe. Will go with the 620 I think, unless anyone can convince me otherwise.

Perhaps Tagan just moderate their forums more :P.

If you look at any piece of hardware sold in sufficient quantity, someone will have issues with it, faults, rma, and complaints.

Corsair use Seasonic to manufacture their PSU's and quite honestly you cant go far wrong with Corsair, or Seasonic branded PSU's.

There is one small issue which can affect Corsair/Seasonic, and that is the lack of a -5v rail. This rail was removed from the ATX spec a long time ago, because strictly speaking it should only have been required by the old ISA expansion cards, and even then only occasionally. However a very small number of 'naughty' motherboards have been caught using it anyway. Shouldnt affect anything thats 'recent' anyway.

As has been said when your building a system like that, whats an extra few quid? I'd go with the 620 if you have SLi in your sights..

HX520 will easily handle a GTX but if you have the extra cash to throw away go for 620.

These PSU's are reworked Seasonic M12's. That makes them about the most reliable and well built units available.

...and SLI is a waste of money unless you are the hardest of hardcore gamers.
