Help me decide between PC and Console gaming.

Why do you need to decide between the two? I have a PS4 which I use for most of my gaming but I've just recently upgraded my GPU too so I can have the best of both worlds when it suits me. I wouldn't want to be restricted to just one or the other.

Inclined to say pc because gaming aside its used for many things

This.

My PC is average/poor spec. It's probably going to be really outclassed by the Scorpio/PS4 Pro. But it's so much more than a games machine.

And who wouldn't want the endless frustration of trying to fix your PC when it goes wrong?

:p

Get both. Most people do. You don't have to spend 1000s on a gaming PC to enjoy gaming on PC. Spend 1/2 of that and get a console also. And some games. And don't try to keep up with the guys benchmarking quad TitanX's in the GPU forum :p

I would stick with the PC and buy the new nintendo when it comes out so you have the best of both worlds. The advantages consoles used to have are gradually dissapearing, you have to deal with online play fees, overpriced E shops, mandatory installs of games taking away a huge advantage consoles used to have and dog slow game updates and download / install speeds.

Like you're considering doing I play the majority of the time on PC and only consoles for exclusives so I'd say go for the G-Sync screen as that will give you an improvement more of the time.

Both:D

PC is my platform of choice but my PS4 has its place for exclusives and enjoying multiplayer with mates.

I like the open nature of PC and like to revisit old games so PC will always be number one for me

If you have to ask then this is your only outcome.

Most games (on the PS4 at least) are playable within a few minutes of inserting the disc. That's still far quicker than downloading and installing the entire thing from Steam.

I can also put my console in Standby and come back to the game exactly as I left it, which isn't something you can do on PC yet.

Stick with the PC in my opinion. I bought a PS4 last Christmas and it hardly gets touched apart from for console exclusives. I can't bring myself to buy anything for it that I can get on my PC (apart from FIFA) because it's always such a step down in graphics and FPS. I've got a 144hz Swift with G-Sync and no matter how good the colours etc are on my TV... it just doesn't compare to the PC.

Well I decided to go for the Asus PG279Q 1440p 165hz gsync monitor. 1440p at 60+ GPS is likely a better experience than 4K 30fps on the PS4 Pro, and most of the TV shows I watch are still 720p. Though I still have my PS4 for FF15.

Seems like it's worth waiting for 4K to become more mainstream and cheaper.

MMO's on my PC, new PS4 for everything else.

What about for strategy games? Consoles lack this genre of games massively in my opinion. I am talking strategy games in the 'traditional' sense of the term, Command and conquer, Starcraft, Total War etc.
