yeah , but i could get to the next step up and get a 105 groupset but thats a long wait


Is that Cube good for comfort rather than racing?

looking to try it out in store, i wont buy a bike mail order, also i think i need at least a 59/60cm frame

I've missed out on some of this thread but are you not considering Planet X any more? The RT-57 @ £999 is ridiculously good value.

too far to go to try it out If i was more local to there store, i would pop in there.

Bike rader recomend the Focus, for short OR long distances

Found one in stock, unfortuantly its down in Bournmouth, but its a 2013 model

I think im going to go down to Primera sport next wednesday, they have 1000's of bikes in stock and have a system that check your body on the bike and can help choose the right bike and best fitting.

their website was good reading

what do you think? i think its worth going down there

yeah, im just writing them an email, to ask if they have many in stock around the size i want. and asking for assistance etc, im going for the RUTEL set up too.

I faffed about quite a lot, got lot down by a couple of places and then just said **** it and went and bought a Boardman, couldn't be happier.

I also think reviews only help to a certain point. That have to say stuff to fill space but to be honest there are so many ace bikes about these days you can't go far wrong once you've sat on it and seen that it does/doesn't fit.

yeah, well as said Evans didnt have any in my size and i couldny compare the 60cm one they had to anything else, everything i wanted was out of stock

the boardman XL is out of stock, but i think it will be too small anyway.

Hopeing that wenesday in bournouth will be buying day :D

bike sizing is a nightmare an extra small Wilier izoard xp is longer than even a small montegrappa and none of them match up with the same sized Triestena which is different again. You really need to sit on as many as possible.

blimey !

well they told me a trick you can do, if you stand over the frame with feet flat the frame must be quite close to you, but they told me how to "meaure up" when trying the 3 different hand positions, if all is ok then the frame is fine

when you look down when your in one position the front hubs need to be in a certain place of the handle bars, if one of them isnt quite right the frame could be the incorect size :)
 
Update


Spoke to Primera Sports today, unfortuantly they dont have the Izalco pro 3.0 in my size in stock and cant get it in for wednesday

still going down there to have a chat with them and test some bikes out

anyone used them before?
 
another UPDATE

Deciding not to go all the way down to Bournmouth, untill the Izalco was in stock, and they said they will update me tommorow :)

From their stores, i am only interested in the Izalco pro 3.0 and the Trek Domane 4.5 all the others are crap spec for the money

but all in all, been trying to get a short list of bikes and i think ive narrowed it down now

Based on local bike shops (so that counts the Planet X out)

Best bang for buck what i think would suit me, i am going for sportives in mind i.e. long distances so comfort top priority over the race aggressive styles

Focus Izalco Pro 3.0
Trek Dmane 4.5
Giant Defy Composite 1


I looked at specialized, scott, Cannondale, Pinnicle etc and for the price you do not get a good spec, you need to spend minimum of £2500 to get Ultegra groupset or sram equivilant

thoughts ??

Primera Sport still havent updated me on stock levels :(

But SIGMA Sport have replied to me and this is interesting

We do not have the Pro 3 in stock yet and may not be getting any for 4-6 weeks.




We do however have our 1st drop of 2013 Focus due this week which should include the Pro 2.




I can't guarantee having them built and in the store for this Sunday but I will do my best to prompt our warehouse and workshop to get them logged in and assembled for display asap.




It would be best to check back in with us towards the end of the week - sorry to be vague but I am not actually at work until Thursday but as brand manager for Focus I get all the enquiries fielded to me.




It would still be a good idea to come to the shop asap and get measured to confirm sizing and positional set up requirements. Also we need to schedule new bike builds into our workshop which is booking a couple of weeks in advance. In this way you can secure yourself the first available Izalco Pro 3.0 bikes arriving in the UK.
