Ok, I should have known this was going to happen... bought 2 3850's to crossfire on my P35. While I am really impressed by single card performance (and I have owned 8800GT, 8800GTX, 8800GTS), the crossfire performance has been abysmal.
Now, I am not sure if this is due to the 16x/4x limitations of the boards pci-e, or if this is just what crossfire is like.
So, while I did not want to spend any more money, its now got me wondering if I should get an x38 board, or just sell these cards on.
I am appalled at the cost of the x38 boards though. So, am I likely to be impressed with an X38 with these cards in crossfire, or is it likely to be a waste of my money?
Guess I am mostly looking for the opinion of people who have an X38, and crossfire 2900's, 3850's or 3870's...
