sons gaming laptop has died so hes asking for either a new comp or an xbox x

so looking to give him mine and ill have the new comp

i like the look of the lian li 011 cases
thinking of either a 5600x or a 5700x paired with a 6600xt or possibly a 6700xt
i mostly play mmos eg new world and eso and games like x4 and satisfactory not really into fps play mostly in 1080p
budget is around 1300 for a pc build

yes this is an excuse to the wife to justify a new pc

Your budget is big enough for the above.

1 X AMD Ryzen 7 5700X Eight Core 4.6GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - £269.99
1
X AMD Xbox Game Pass - Ryzen - Equipped for Battle Game Bundle - £0.00
1
X MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk (AMD AM4) B550 ATX Motherboard - £114.95
1
X Asus RX Radeon 6700 XT Dual OC 12GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £499.99
1
X AMD RAISE THE GAME - RX 6000 Series Gaming Bundle - £0.00
1
X Phanteks AMP 650W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply - £74.99
1
X Team Group Vulcan Z T-Force 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey - £95.98
1
X Lian Li O11D EVO Mid-Tower Case - Black - £149.99
1
X WD Black SN850 1TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS100T1X0E) - £124.99
Grand Total: £1,345.58

I think the 5700X has no stock cooler, though.

The above looks fairly decent though I'd perhaps alternatively suggest dialling back on the specs in favour of putting the extra cash towards a decent monitor with higher resolution i.e. 2560x1440p? You'll most likely appreciate the extra resolution versus potential futureproofing.

5700X -> 5600X = Save £70-100 - The extra 2 cores in the 5700x doesn't really give much fps/£ value for gaming currently and by the time it does, we'll be several generations ahead and you could probably pick up a used 5800x/5900x by then for a cheap upgrade.

RAM -> 16GB should be more than enough and can be had for £60 = Save £40

Case -> There's a lot of decent cases around the £75 mark too if you're not completely set on the Lian Li.

SN850 NVMe -> WD Blue (or earlier gen WD Black) = Save £40-60 - Realistically most gamers aren't going to appreciate the difference in any variant of NVMe speeds.

I found New World to be heavily single thread bound on an old AMD 3600. As is tradition with all MMOs. Thinking you might not see much difference in 1% minimums between a 6600xt and 6700xt @1080.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,150.58 (includes delivery: £14.70)

Edit: The monitor suggestion above is good. Can't imagine playing an mmo @1080 with all the interface requirements these days.
No idea on the specific quality of this monitor. There are 3 different ones at that price point. The IPS one was put in the basket. I simply wasn't able to make the £1315 (-15 delivery) price point. £15 over. You would sacrifice the case choice specification next or go 16gb memory which is still viable.
My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,328.89 (includes delivery: £28.02)

Apart from ray-tracing the 5600 XT performs similarly to the 6600, if you want a decent upgrade I'd be looking higher than the 6600 or 6600/6650 XT. The 6700/6750 XT is a bigger jump, but might be disappointing for £500.

£549 for 3070tiFe still an option, shame the 3070fe now out of stock

S/b doable with a £1300 budget, so £750 left

£50 overbudget and used a 12400 and a b660 mortar, so £348....could get a 5600X/B550 for similar performance

Used white case as above has black case...no tint in glass on white case, black does

BenQ with a remote control. Interesting. I must say though, BenQ monitors are really good. Got my first BenQ Zowie monitor the other day. No DSE, black/grey scale slides look all nice and even to black as well as no glowing corners. Best of all, no RGB, no gaming branding or gaming sci-fi space shapes to the monitor.

All in One coolers were posted above yours.
