I played this game years ago and thought it was really good. I used to have it bookmarked but no longer have that laptop.

Basically, you would enter the site and would be greeted by one picture that would provide you with a clue which you would use to replace the last part of the url to move to the next level. I remember one of the riddles was 'one is a lonely number what is twice as lonely' the answer was two or eleven (cant remember) and you would enter this into the url to progress to the next level. There were a lot of levels but i cant remember what the name of it was and my google skills are failing me.

yeah i think that's it. There were three of more versions of it. I think the site is down now :(

It had rather dark creepy pictures one of the ways of doing a puzzle was to open the picture in paint and zoom right in to find the hidden word or something. It had references to Alice in wonderland. Not too sure if it was puzzledonkey without the site to look at. :(

Yeah from the "answers" to the riddles for PD it didnt sound like it. Will google notpron now.

Edit: It looks like what I was looking for but its not quite the one. This will keep me occupied though.

You couldn't click on the pictures, they were just pictures that gave you cryptic clues.

Incidentally, I remember the days of NetRiddle and Puzzledonkey.

I was one of the first 10 people to reach the 'final' NetRiddle stage, which turned out to never get solved, afaik. That was somewhat frustrating.
