Hey guys, sorry for the rude thread.
Just had some terrible news about my mates mum, I want to give a grand gesture for moral support.
Unfortunately I'm in the hole right now and have nary a few quid to my name, if I spend more than £100 on the flights I won't be able to afford to go and buy him the pints he sorely needs.

I can't find anywhere doing flights that arrive before 8pm tommorow and return anytime sunday for under £100!

If anybody knows of any, I'd be VERY much appreciative!

You'll really struggle to get it for less that £100. Another long shot would be Aer Arann out of Stansted or Luton.

The only other option is Easyjet into Belfast and get a train down to Dublin but that's going to be expensive too. Looks like you'll have to cough up more dosh.

How about the Ferry? Train to fishguard, ferry across and train up to dublin?

Not sure what it would cost, but usually about £15 for the ferry?

The best route would be a train to Holyhead, ferry into Dublin city and a bus/dart/luas from there. It's still going to be expensive, and long.

Drive up to Holyhead (yes, long trip i know, but about £40 petrol should do the return trip) and then £15 across and same on the way back?

I've got the flights now (or at least I would if bloody ryanair would stop erroring when I tried to book)
8:00AM saturday birmingham to dublin via aer lingus £60
6:30am monday dublin to birmingham via ryanair (gonna be a bit late for work!) 30 euros

But ryanair keeps erroring when I book!

To take a car on the ferry at Holyhead costs between £170 and £200. To go as a foot passenger will cost you £19 return with Irish Ferries (www.irishferries.ie).
Driving up and parking the car at Holyhead might work out cheaper but you're looking at £40 each way in petrol. Add that to the cost of a ferry and the cost of transport at the other side, as well as the extra time, it isn't worth it to save £30-40.
