Help me find this WWII series..

Okay guys need some OcUK detectives to help me out with this. I’ve very little information to go on but it’s really bugging me.

A few years ago I watched a drama series based on WWII. If I recall it followed the story from the German side. It was very action packed and seemed authentic in my eyes. I remember it being aired in episodes rather than a film but I can’t remember much else. I haven’t been able to find anything like it.

in fact it has me thinking did I imagine all this?!?
 
Probably Unsere Mutter, Unsere vater. The war seen from the viewpoints of five friends. Was a pretty damn good series.
 
when people have finished helping you track down a war film that was action packed and had Germans in it, hopefully they can help me track down this sci-fi film I saw ages ago. it had a spaceship and some aliens in.

Not what the OP was looking for but I'm kind of glad this thread reminded me of Unsere Mutter, it really was the German Band of Brothers to some extent, feel like watching it again now.
 
Yes, its really good. For what it's worth Warsaw 44 is also quite exceptional.

I can't find what I'm looking for. Can't help think I may have dreamt about it, and made it up. My mind is a bit like that lol...

I remember it, used to be on youtube and was an interesting watch, I assumed it got pulled for conspiracy theory reasons. So probably gone forever.
 
Any luck remembering?
The only ones I can think of that I have seen from the German side are:
  • Das Boot (about a submarine crew)(TV series and also cut down into a film version)
  • Generation War (Eastern Front infantry)
  • Stalingrad (1993)
  • Land of Mine (also known as: Under Sandet)
  • Downfall (last days in the bunker)

Nope lol... I've seen all of those. They're all good. Das Boot was also remade, and is in the second series now on Sky.
 
Just remembered another two:
  • The Captain (2017) (also known as: Der Hauptmann) (made in black and white)
  • Cross of Iron (1977)
 
was it perhaps a dramatised documentary.

It sounds really familiar to me what you describe but I can't think of any actual series.

unless it was some flashback episodes of something else set in Germany but our brains are trying to fill in the blanks as if it was it's own series.
