I have not been able to play BFBC2 since well before xmas, would have bought Vietnam but it was poiuntless as I could never get online. I get this error message after playing for a few minutes.

Connection to the game server has been lost. Please check your connection and try again.

I have tried alsorts of supposed random fixes I have found on the ea forums.

Restarting my pc
Started in administrator
Opened ports in my router
Updated punkbuster
Full reinstall of BFBC2
Full reinstall of win7 64
Disabled the firewall on my router
Tried run cmd (admin mode) type -> netsh int ip reset then after type -> netsh winsock reset and a few other cmd commands that I forget.

I am looking forward to BFBC3 but I am not going to buy it if I dont fix the above problem. BBFC2 is a cracking game and would like to play the last map pack and the Vietnam.

Will try virtually anything.

I get this too.

Can sometimes play for 20mins, but sometimes just a a few minutes before no one moves for about 30seconds (apart form me) and then get kicked with the same message.

I've tried most things, other than reinstall and full download/reinstall of bc2. But it seems even that didnt help you.. Sorry I can't help.

i would start looking at your phone line and router. Is it a BT phone line and what isp are you with and what router?

It is a bt phone line and I am with fast.co.uk my router is a belkin play n600. My connection and router is perfectly fine for every other mp game I play, I have slow broadband (1.2mb 68 ping using speedtest) but that does not impact any other game that I play.

Feel your pain :(

Couldn't play for more than 10 seconds until I get it. Went to ISP, they did everything, double my dld speed, change my router, opened ports, NOTHING could fix it. I even talked to EA support, they checked my line, which was perfect and told me to update punkbuster etc.

Never worked. One day I was like, **** this, i wanna fix it. I opened ports and it was fine. Used to play for hours!

Some1 in the family mucked up the ports, so I did it again, but get disconnected after like 20 minutes :(

No fix yet

Be, Bebox. No phones on the loop, using Be filter, new build flat @ 2010.

Do you get this only on BFBC2? If not, then try a different router if i were you. Get a used DG834GT for £15 off ebay and set it up as explained in this link
The Bebox may be ok for normal use, but i found it did disconnect randomly on certain games such as L4D2 and BFBC2. Since getting the netgear, it's been rock solid.

I don't really know what else to suggest which hasn't already been said. I would get on the phone to them and ask for help. Their cs is supposed to be top notch.

Tried disabling upnp. I used to get the same with my bebox. Turned off upnp and it fixed it. It's fine with upnp on with my dg834gt though, just the bebox that gave problems.

Me and a mate both have Be internet and suffered from the same problem when the game come out. Disabled UPNP and havent had any disconnects since. You will have to turn upnp back on after you have finished playing, I struggle to connect in other online games with it turned off.

Good luck though, hopefuly you will have a nice suprise when you try playing next time :)

I had this problem for a long time, around the sametime as yourself and have managed to resolve it. It appears for me the issue was down to the RealTek audio driver, it sounds strange however after updating to the latest version which only came out this May (I hadn't updated anything else apart from graphics drivers after giving up trying to resolve it months and months ago) it resolved it after installing, since then I've never had a problem since.

A side issue to this that I also suffered was BSOD, installing the RealTek driver was to resolve this issue, however it seemed to have solved two birds with one stone.

I will look into this tonight, I use the onboard sound which is probably realtek.

I'll try and fish out the link after I get back home this afternoon and post it. Hope it works for you, I know it was such a pain.

Thanks :) I don't seem to have Realtek sound installed though and use an on-board soundcard. When I go in Control Panel I see RealTek ethernet nd Realtek USB reader O.o

Ok so I've just played for over an hour, amazing. Thank you! Been having this problem for....ever.

To the OP, try this!

However, what is the disadvantage of not having upnp enabled?
