Help me fix this sound error

My pc was working fine last night, I installed a windows update and shut it down, now I have no sound.

Here is the error I get

Just after a boot its fine, I go to windows sounds and test them and the audio is working, but if I try to do anything else like play an MP3 in wmp or winamp and all I get is this error.

Any ideas?

I un-installed the creative drivers and re-installed them but its still the same.

Sound card is an Xfi Fatality.

Edit - I get the same error when I try to play cod4.

Its ok I did a system restore to yesterday afternoon and its working now.

Not sure if I should do that windows update again thou :s

I cant remember now, I was about to go to bed, I just hit install and shut down when finished.

I'll see if it pops up later today.
