Hey guys

I've just this moment been migrated from Plusnet -(brrrr) to Utility Warehouse (hopefully yay)

The only problem is, that I can only browse all of 2 websites. Here (luckily) and AV Forums. The rest of them are no go's. I'm getting a server not found error page, however my router tells me I'm connected with no problems.

I've got a feeling that it might be my DNS settings, which are currently set at plusnets servers.

Could a kind soul post the Primary and Secondary DNS servers for Utility warehouse please. At the very least, it will narrow down my problem solving. Website is www.uwclub.net for those curious

Many many thanks

Do yourself a favour and reset the router and re-input all the settings needed. Leave everything else bar your username and password to default. Try it again then start to change settings if everything works. Its your best method that way.

Mate thats the first thing I did.

All I've actually changed on the router is my username and password. All my other settings (Virtual Connection, post settings) as before as there were no problems with it before. The DNS settings are set in the Windows networking profile for my network.

I just need to check that plusnet aren't blocking me from the DNS settings for whatever reason, or that possible work isn't even finished on my line. I suppose its a possibility, but I was disconnected from plusnet at 8am, and I was quoted an hour for the migration.

Then phone plusnet ??? ....

Could you pm me or post how they are compared to Plusnet mate im looking to move from them also.
I cant seem to find what caps Utility Warehouse have on there products i know it says unlimited but is it actually unlimited any time of day?

Open DNS worked a treat, seems that UW are a reseller of mistral, so I'll so a bit more digging.

Craigius - I'll let you know how they are, but so far I've tested some ftp speeds, and a few pings, and they are pretty good for this time of night.

Google.com pinged back at 72ms and I was able to get a peak of 520Kbps off of a linux distro ftp. Sustained speed was around 470Kbps so still pretty good.

If you want anything specific tested, let me know mate, and I'll see what I can do.

EDIT

Just tried to download a service pack from Microsoft UK servers, and was able to get 707Kbps sustained download rate. Faster than anything plusnet have ever managed for me.

Hi thanks for that have you gone on to an LLU line now and have you noticed a sync speed difference to plusnet i know sync speed doesn't really come down to isp but i was just curious that's all.

Thanks for the information i may have to have a look at this as plusnets P2P policy is shocking i have to download even small files over night its a little silly really oh well ill have too look for a new isp.
What are your download limits per month with your new isp bud?
