Help me get CCC working please!

I cant get CCC working for my x1900xt no matter what.

I tried the drivers on the disk and it installs ok but does nothing when I click on the CCC icon after rebooting.

I tried the new 6.2 drivers and the new CCC and still nothing. I uninstalled everything to do with ATI or Nvidia (had a 7800GT for a few weeks) and ran drivercleaner while in safe mode - deleted all ati/nv folders etc and installed again but still it wont work.

This is a fairly new install of XP with service pack 2 + .net1.1 and 2 installed.
Latest mobo drivers and bios etc. Had a 7800gt for a few weeks like I said but surely that wouldnt completely break CCC???

Edit: Also 3dmark 06 just stops responding with the 6.2 drivers when clicked.

Do you have a firewall (e.g. zonealarm) if so you need to give access to the .net address (127.0.0.1 - I think).
