Bought some polyurethane to use as a backdrop and am just tinkering about with the position of my lights and exposure.

I'm actually using a high definition webcam from Logitech (Quickcam Pro 9000) to shoot the video and will either be using it to take pictures or using a proper digital camera once i see the quality.

As i'm doing video as well as still i want to get the backdrop perfect, with pictures i can touch them up in photoshop but would rather get things right in the shooting stage. With video, i don't really want to have to key out the background hence taking more time.

Here is a picture of my setup:

Here is a test picture that i took with my webcam with white balancing on auto and just me playing about with the gain:

Could anyone advise to move my lights slightly or play with the settings a bit more?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

You will need some white matte card board that bends to the back of the scene making it seamless. That textile has too much of a texture.

Next you need to have a diffuser for your lights. a light grade paper works, be careful of heat. You can find nice plastic diffusers in some hardware shops.

You will also want at least two lights opposed to each other.
