....a Van. :)

Need to hire a Van as I've recently moved house and need to collect some of the bigger items from my old property.

As I passed my driving test after 1998, I don't have 'grandfather' rights when it comes to driving larger/heavy vehicles.

I've been looking at hiring the following Van.

Was just wondering whether anyone knew whether this would be OK for me to drive i.e. under 3.5 tones.

Obviously it will be heavier when carrying a load, but I don't have too much to bring up with me, just mainly larger items.

If the above one is unsuitable, then it will have to be this one.

It's worth noting that Thrifty are much cheaper for van hire than Enterprise. When I hired one we ended up with a short wheelbase Transit for less than Enterprise wanted for a much smaller Vauxhall Vivaro.

Also it sounds like you have never driven a van before so here's a top tip:

If you are approaching a T-junction or similar where the road is not at a right angle to the main road, as you reach the give way line you should turn the van so that you are at a right angle to the main road, otherwise you will have no chance of being able to see what is coming as there is no rear passenger window. This is particularly important if you are intending to turn right.

Surprisingly....I used to drive Ambulances lol, so I'm used to driving larger vehicles. It was the lighterweight, Renault conversions though....

Thank you for the tip though, just wasn't sure how heavy the van was, no info provided by Enterprise.

Thrifty aren't open on Saturday near where I live, so no go on that front.
