Help me identtify this SSD component?

I blew a couple of drives today with what appears to be a faulty cable on a modular PSU. It seems that this is not covered under warrenty, and the PSU was not bought new, so i have limited comeback on that front.

I have already replaced the SSD (120gb ocz agility 3) but on the fried SSD, when i took it apart, there appears to be only one burnt component which i wish to attempt to replace. However, as it is frazzled, i cannot read it's value from the top!

If you look at this page below go to the first full on PCB image:

Check out the small 3pin chip on the top right labelled "U1"

Does anyone have any ideas on what to replace it with, i figure a bit of delicate soldering should bring it back?

On further investigations I think now it is a TVS Diode, not sure what the value would be, any ideas? 12v or 5v? I doubt it will be 3.3 as there is no 3.3 on the molex (which has been powering it before the problem cable was connected)
.
Am i right in thinking that if i remove the diode, the protection would be gone, but it would allow function again. Presuming that the SSD is supplied with the correct power supply?

Sorry for bumping a two-year-old thread, but I have the same question. Did you manage to remove the small piece from the HDD and was it a TVS diode? I have the exact same drive and wanted to try the same thing. Thank you!

Mine's a 60gb OCZ Agility 3 with no visible burnt components and the BIOS won't recognize it in AHCI mode or IDE. No clue what it could be either, and that part on the PCB you mentioned was also the closest thing to a TVS diode I could see. Thanks for the quick response!
