Help me im a clout!!

hey guys.

i have a hard drive with all my music and files on it but it was previously my c: in another computer and the main account was passworded. Well i tried to access the hard drive from my new machine all the files are inaccessable and folders are showing as empty even though i no that my stuff is there!

so im asking if anyone knows how to access my files could they please help me out?!

Right click on the drive in explorer, click the security tab, advanced, owner, select your user name, check the 'replace owner on subcontainers and objects' box, click ok. Then you can add yourself to the permissions to give yourself full access, if needed, too.

i only see sharing and security and under that there is no security tab

I think you'll have to disable 'simple file sharing 'in XP first:

open 'My Computer', click Tools menu, click Folder Options, click the View tab. In the Advanced Settings section, clear the 'User simple file sharing' check box, click OK.

You should then get the security tab in file properties.
