Hi guys, folks have gone on hols and left lil sis at home alone (shes 15) but i keep getting calls from the school saying shes not in, this is because she's up playing sodding WoW all night. Im getting tired of driving her in late each day, how can i block here WOW access as punishment in the evening? apart from taking her ethernet cable (she will figure a way around that) i use a buffalo WHR-HP-G54 as the main router

ideas?

Log onto her pc when shes not around, run SECPOL.MSC and create a rule to stop the WOW.EXE from running, you can always undo the rule at a later date.

best idea of the lot cheers, the rest of you failed to see from my post that we must be running quite a few computers on the network (about 14 plus media extenders) so unfortunatley disabling hard-lines is a no go, putting her on wireless would only last till she found a CAT5 lead and plugged herself back in. She's not a normal little sister to block her from WoW you would need to think what would block YOU from wow lol

i can understand playing on a proper wow server for long periods, but playing on an illegal server for long periods is just pathetic, how long does it take to type a few gm commands to make yourself a god, then get board of 1 shot killing everything.

A long time when your a 13 year old 23 year old. apparently.

lol hopefully thats a joke, but to a lot of people these servers are a great alternative, if i wanted a dabble in wow no way i'd wanna pay when these are run pretty well from what ive seen with full forum support, communities and responsible rules. Doesnt seem like the half arsed punk-fest i initially predicted

What server is she on?

Start your own toon of the opposite faction. Kill her, corpse camp her, repeat.

She'll soon get bored and logoff / quit.

shes a several million level admin who knows the game inside out....as has also been said in this thread she can 4-5 star expert GH3 songs using only a control pad!

You're looking at this all wrong. You have 14 PC's/Media devices, she'll be able to get access to something and get back online etc. I'm betting you probably only have one modem/router and if that's gone she's in for an early night. Simply unplug, remove and put where little hands won't be able to get at it. This allows her the use of her PC for genuine work but removes the temptation to WoW. I don't care how much of a genius she is she's not going to build her own ADSL modem out of a paper-clip and bits of tin foil any time soon.

yeah but everyone else suffers with no media center no internet no file sharing etc
