Help me keep my lil sis of WoW!

Hi guys, folks have gone on hols and left lil sis at home alone (shes 15) but i keep getting calls from the school saying shes not in, this is because she's up playing sodding WoW all night. Im getting tired of driving her in late each day, how can i block here WOW access as punishment in the evening? apart from taking her ethernet cable (she will figure a way around that) i use a buffalo WHR-HP-G54 as the main router

it may be not what you are looking for but it may be a start
did your ISP give you a modem that only allows 1 pc on at a time?

are you and your sis using different PCs in different rooms?

if so use the modem and connect only yourself online.
 
Log onto her pc when shes not around, run SECPOL.MSC and create a rule to stop the WOW.EXE from running, you can always undo the rule at a later date.
 
Can you get her to run wireless?

If so, block her MAC address for certain times and then to stop her spoofing her MAC you can turn on MAC filtering.

Personally I would try this. Or just block her internet access all together.

best idea of the lot cheers, the rest of you failed to see from my post that we must be running quite a few computers on the network (about 14 plus media extenders) so unfortunatley disabling hard-lines is a no go, putting her on wireless would only last till she found a CAT5 lead and plugged herself back in. She's not a normal little sister to block her from WoW you would need to think what would block YOU from wow lol

Not normal is an understatement :p

Put it this way, anyone who can 5 star expert songs on GH3 with a controller HAS to be some kind of superhero.

Why don't you just set up an ip block from the router for her pc for say 11pm till 8am every night? Just stop internet access all together and get her to go to bed earlier.

Tis what my parents did a couple o' years back when they found i was up till the early hours playing battlefield.

Or if she isn't buying that educate her that RvR PvP is for nubs and that a true MMO should be Sandbox based and Guild v Guild.
 
You could try installing DUMeter, running wow and then opening the network connections tab inside DU Meter and find out what ports she does use and then block them :)
