Hi guys

I have changed the multiplier to 17 (I think) clocked to 3.4 at the moment with stock everything!

Idle temp is 24 according to Coretemp although its only showing CPU#0?

Whats the next move from here to get it up to 3.8 say?

Asus M3A79-T Deluxe AMD 790FX (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720 Black Edition 2.8GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail

just up the multipler untill it fails/doesn't post then go down 1 multi and boot in to windows, run prime95 for 2 or 8 hours then if that pass and if u want to overclock more just bump up the voltage alittle.

Phenoms only have 1 temp sensor..

what cooler do u have?

idle 24 at the moment, what's the best stress test? orthos?
yes or prime95

just be careful if u bump up the volts

at stock volts my 940 idles at 25c, 34c underload but with a small bump up on the volts +25.0mv the temps go to idles at 30c, 60c underload with running prime95 only for 15min .

i know yours a 720 but basicly the same just as 1 core less.

What's the most reliable CPU temp monitoring software? Coretemp?

Coretemp reads my cpu @ 25 idle

Speedfan read it @ 34 idle?

Hi guys

Can get to 3.5ghz with just multiplier overclock then it won't boot?

Set the settings below, but should I be upping the north bridge to assist in overclocking? If so what volts do I start with on my board?

Temps idle are 25 and 30 load so temp isn't an issue at the moment :)

Any advice would be great ;) I really want to see what this chip is capable of but stability is key
