Help me people : anyone know the ambient track I'm talking about?

Apologies in advance for not making sense, but there's a chance someone knows what I'm blithering on about!

I have heard some ambient track on a number of occasions. From what I remember it tends to be put onto documentaries that are science based?

It's pretty dark sounding, claustrophobic. But the main theme to it is it's frenetic shift in tone throughout (makes it sound a little bit acidy). It's really synthetic sounding.

It just weaves in and out. Sounds like an alien computer trying to talk to me. I have no idea what on earth it is and I can't figure it out.

No beat to it as I'm aware.

Any ambient/trance gurus got an idea what it could be?

If you've heard it on science documentaries etc. It's probably Sigur Ros- Hoppipolla

It's evil, trancey proper ambient.

could it be something from Death in Vegas? like 'death threat' from their continio sessions CD?.
Massive Attack's Blue Lines CD is similar sounding

See if you can remember what show it was on,the site may have the tunes used on it,or a small clip.
If its evil good chance of coming from early aphex twin

Few of them are off Aphex.Twin.-.Selected.Ambient.Works.85-92 just dug it out again still sounds good (and weird).

Can't beat listening to Xtal nice and loud. I love it. Is the OP refering to "Polynomial-C"? I've not heard the track, nor do I have the "Xylem Tube EP" that it seems to be on. Is it worth getting?
