Help me pick a charity

dunno how everyone elses air ambulance is run, but ours is a charitable organisation. As far as I am aware, the medical personnel are covered by NHS, but the upkeep of the chopper, fuel, pilot, controller etc are all paid by donations. I'm told keeping the chopper air worthy is costly.

It's one of those things that any one of us or our family might need at any time.

I always give to Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey for giving us a place to stay in a time of need, no questions asked.

You can google how much each charity gives to its programs verses costs indiviudally I think - Icoudlnt see a database for all of them!

Tbh if it was me - I would look at smaller local charities instead - I give money to the local air ambulance for example

I donate to animal rights and welfare groups. Again, local.
Same here. In my view, animals don’t have a voice so I try to act kindly on their behalf. We give to local rescue centres, and other animal sanctuaries like Brook, blue cross, thin blue paw etc.

I donate to the RNLI, Wikipedia, and Scottish Air Ambulance, among others. I'm a member of the National Trust for Scotland. I'm a member of an organisation that promotes and supports fishing and fisheries in part through charitable donations.

Wikipedia is loaded, they don't need money.

Bugs me how most of these things are essential services so should be funded via tax. Feels wrong to be papering over that crack.

That's my logic too. That an the vast majority of suffering they have to deal with is caused by us.
This definitely doesn't detract from some of the amazing work the likes of macmillan do though.

I contribute to St John's Hospice and NW Air Ambulance on a monthly basis and I sponsor one guide dog puppy a year. I always drop change in an RNLI collection if I see one. I sometimes I worry that maybe I am just insuring against future potential issues. Anyway, I trust these charities. I could never trust these crappy ads that try to make OAPs feel guilty. It is too much.

Donkeys in Bethlehem?

Edit:

Can't think of a more worthy cause.....
