Hello guys and gal!

Ok the background of the story is that my fiancée is on the verge of opening her own Chinese buffet restaurant. She has the found a good location and placed an offer which is likely to be accepted as it was for the asking price, she has the finance in place (Her family has the money so she doesn't need to borrow any) and business plan and costings all setup and all ready to go. Her Brother, Dad and Uncle are getting involved in running the place and all have 10+ each working in and around the catering industry.

She about 2.5 months away from opening doors and her thoughts have turned to what to name the restaurant, which she has asked me for help.

Initially i thought of the usual suspects:

China Kitchen
Imperial Palace (Too Serious i think?)
Panda Palace (Too silly? Maybe people like the word-play?)
The Golden Wok (Seems popular with people in my office)
Imperial Kitchen
The Legendary Wok
China Express
New China House
Chopstick Empire (Also seems popular and a bit more modern!)

Then the next name just popped into my head last night, not just the name but the logo as well. So i did a quick rough pass through last night before going to bed but to be honest it had really mixed reactions with the people i have shown it so far. Some thinks it's good while others thought it was very meh and wanted a more traditional Chinese name like the ones in the list, so i will now submit it to the court of popular opinion and see what you guys think:

And here is the black version that would go on Staff uniforms

All i'm asking is for you brutal honest opinion, thoughts or general ramblings. Tell me if you prefer a name from the list. Or if you have an idea on how to improve the name or logo i am all open to suggestions. Even Photoshop it to make improvements if you want.

Anyone that i consider makes a great contribution, i will ask you to IM me your name and address and i'll make sure you eat for free in our new eatery :)

Thanks in advance guys, i really hope you lot can help!

"Club China" sounds like some kinky night club or a place for martial arts enthusiasts. You might as well have "My Big Wok" or "Happy Wong"....

definitely sounds like a fairly specialised lap dancing club... logo adds to that too!!
is it going to be modern or traditional décor wise? if it's modern I would go for something simple, maybe just one word, rather than a few words

Ok, so it's crap? Is there any from the list that you lot like? Or can you come up with a decent one. I just don't want it to sound like every other restaurant out there.

EDIT - It's going to be a more of the modern side for the decor some traditional influance

With that font it looks like Club Ching as well which just sounds like an ask for a bit of customer casual racism :(

Also call it Modern China in memory of the brilliant buffet up the road from me which closed suddenly the other day due to financial shenanigans by the owner and made me :( :( :(

Oh man i love Chairman Wow! But i think it's a little too jokey, the others i will look into.

Modern China - hum, not bad not bad, what do others think?

City Wok

On a more serious note. Isn't Jade strongly associated with China, moreso than Gold? And the Forbidden Palace is also a major cultural icon. So...

The Jade Palace.

China Kitchen - 6/10
Imperial Palace (Too Serious i think?) Sounds an upmarket restaurant
Panda Palace (Too silly? Maybe people like the word-play?) 4/10
The Golden Wok (Seems popular with people in my office) Sounds like grubby takeaway
Imperial Kitchen - Not sure how you can have an Imperial Kitchen
The Legendary Wok - 6/10
China Express - Sounds like fast food; low quality
New China House - 7/10
Chopstick Empire (Also seems popular and a bit more modern!) 7/10

Do like:

Chopsticks Tso (don't know what a Tso is, but sounds Chinese!)
Lotus Delight
Bamboo Paradise
