Help me please guys..

Hey guys,

I have quite a old laptop which is the Dell Vostro A860.

Seeing as it's quite old i want to update it by putting a new graphics card in it and 2GB more of RAM. I was just wondering if you can give me a few ideas that would be compatable with the laptop.

Im looking to spend around £70 on the graphics card about about £25 on the RAM.

dint even know you could upgrade laptops gfx cards tbh, you'll be better posting in the laptop section, so you dont get ignorant people like me

you cant upgrade that laptop graphics card mate, you can the ram on the other hand...

oh i thought if it said "mobile" on the graphics card then you can..

Doesn't it have intel gma x3100 graphics? no upgrade possible

In my experiance I've never seen a laptop graphics card that can be removed and I've worked on a fair few laptops.

hmmm, mine has a dell intel moile graphics card, and someone told me that it was moveable, but im not quite sure.

There's a few about, I've worked on several samsungs with removable video cards, I think you'll find most high end business and gaming laptops will come with gpu's that are on a dedicated removable board.

Obviously low end tat it's all on board.

You will not be able to upgrade your video card I'm afraid as it's an Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100+, "Integrated" being the operative word, ie it's integrated into the mainboard (or onboard) and not on a separate card.
