Any POST pips with that black screen?
Unplug everything but the keyboard.

Use one stick of RAM, if it won't post try the other, again only one stick.

Yeah 19 mins after I mentioned doing the same

I know resetting the cmos and removing battery reset the mobo, but when I put in the ssd I connected it on exactly the same spot same sata connection, actually with all the hard drives was connected to the usual spot so I would not have to RE-INSTALL windows.


So what do I do now, how to get rid of the black screen, I went to boot screen and requested to boot off the ssd, no avail

If it were me at this point I still don't know that everything is working on my PC. I'd say you should still assume something is faulty. You should connect only the absolute minimum to get it running then add things one by one to possibly troubleshoot. e.g 1 stick of Ram, only the windows hard drive etc.

As you've cleared the CMOS the PC might be trying to boot off the wrong Hard drive, you may need to set boot order in the bios. To make life easier just don't connect any other hard drives apart from the one with Windows until you've confirmed everything is OK.

cant get into the bios,tried many times, I had this exact same problem when I 1st bought this motherboard, and forgot how I did it

That kind of thing should be in your motherboard's manual. Usually just press Delete at Post.

Regarding getting into the BIOS, some mobos need you to be super quick pressing the appropriate key during POST e.g. on my (old) Asus it's F8 which sometimes doesn't work at first boot. Also, make sure keyboard is plugged in ok. Unplug any unnecessary USB devices for now.

Turns out it's a Gigabyte fault but the solution is quite simple. As per 8-Pack's post

You can detach all your boot drives then you go straight into Bios. I would do this until Gigabyte sort the issue.

We have built several systems using this board and when I have tested I have had no issue. Maybe try PS2 Keyboard??

yeah my pc is working fine now, all is good with the new psu and cables, but its a pain to remove all my mechanical drives ect just to get in to the bios.

I tried once to do that "usb flash drive fix where u update the bios in the white slot, it didn't work, and im to afraid to do anything else in-case I break or ruin somthing...

so I will just get a new non gigabyte board and a new usb 3.0 case to finish off the job once and for all....
