Hi,
After several hundred quid, a lot of trips to stoke and back and 3 amps that havnt fixed my DVD sound sync problem; I decided to give up and think about using the same money to make my main PC as quiet as possible, with a sound card upgrade to pipe correctly synced sound to my existing amp.
Now, heres my system as of today:
* Intel Core2Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping.
* Abit IP35-Pro.
* 4Gb GeIL Value PC6400 Cas5 (4x1Gb)
* Asus X1650 256Mb Passive.
* Connect 3D X800XL 256Mb.
* 500Gb Samsung SATA2
* 2x 250Gb Samsung SATA2
* 250Gb Hitachi SATA2.
* Sony 20x DVDRW
* Samsung 20x External USB DVDRW.
* 2x Dell 2407WFP 24” TFTs.
* Corsair HX-620W PSU.
* Apple Pro USB Keyboard.
* Microsoft Intellimouse Optical USB
* Antec P182.
* Scythe 1200rpm 120mm Fans.
* Artic Cooling Accelero X2 on X800XL.
* Scythe Ninja Rev.B.
So, as you can see, its in a case thats been designed to be quiet, with two video cards that are passivly cooled, with case fans that are supposidly quiet.
But it still doesnt have make a racket at times. lol.
Its not increadably loud, but it is noticable when im watching DVDs at night.
The only think i can think of that'll make a difference to start off with is reducing the number of HDDs in the system. Of which i could wack them in a NAS and have that in another room.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance all. .
