Help me replace my steam collection

So I have finally given up trying to keep the kids off my steam account. It is too much hassle having to log off one PC to get on another over and over.

I have decided to give my account to the kids with 200+ games on - and my 9 year old steam id :(

and use the steam sale to build another for me

I would be grateful if anyone could gift me any old duplicate copies they have of games such as HL/L4D and that sort of thing that steam tends to give away. I will buy these if needed, but normally there are loads of unused versions around. The more expensive stuff that I play such as TW I will get my self on daily deal.

Thanks in advance

Games added so far:

CS
HL
CSS
Call of Duty
CS:CZ
Day of Defeat
HL2 Ep1
Day of Defeat source
Garry's Mod
HL 2 DM
HL Blue shift
HL Opposing force

Have Dota 2 here.

Cheers but I don't play that - it would be better going to some one who will use it.

May be getting an old unused account with some games already on. Don't no what, but the new account link above may change. Already paid for CS:GO as well : /

Would it not have been wiser to create a new account for your children rather than give in by doing the opposite? Even pop some money into a Steam wallet for them to enjoy spending.

Maybe I am naive, I'm not a parent thankfully, but I always thought no meant no. Therefore telling your kids not to use your account, but their newly created account would surely solve your problem.

Tend to agree to be honest. Seems a strange way to do things.

It would be, but 99% of my time is spent on TW L4D and CS, which are easy to replace, whereas they play a range of games that would cost 100s to buy again.

I mainly need to the classics for mods I play at lan etc

As above, most of the games added lately are for them and I only play a few games.

Just look at the games played list:

Spore 19.9 hrs / 178.1 hrs
Rayman Origins 10.2 hrs / 19.6 hrs
Left 4 Dead 2 10.0 hrs / 197.6 hrs
Crysis Warhead 8.5 hrs / 56.8 hrs
Total War: SHOGUN 2 4.9 hrs / 214.8 hrs
Crash Time II 1.7 hrs / 212.5 hrs

Of that 4.9 h of TW is me, so it is not crazy. It is cheaper.

Who remembers being a kid with loads of time but no games? Forced to play PC gamer demo disks and stuff. If he rarely plays the majority of the games then this is a nice touch.

I guess you've already got HL2?

This is the only comment I agree with. However, I think there are laws against this.

Unfortunately.

Same thing is happening to me. My DS is now his DS, my 360 is now our 360 (for now) and now the little ahem, is eying up my PC everytime I start it up.

I feel I'm walking the same path, only a few mile behind,
