Hello. So the batter came out of my key and now the central locking doesnt work

I have tried putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the acc position then pressing the lock or unlock button but the key will still not sync. Any ides welcome. Thanks

You'll need OPCOM or Tech2 to code it again. Where are you based? Sure there is someone local to you that can help...

Its actually a works van. You sure about the recoding, seems a bit of a faff just because the battery came out. That means when changing over the battery you have to have the key coded?

Key in, ign on until dash lights up, press lock or unlock, door should respond, done.

Usually takes me 3 - 4 attempts to do mine.

Depends on the MY of the car? Pre canbus cars will work with turning key and pressing button but I don't think newer ones will... To google!

I will mention it to the mechanic at work and see if he can sort it

Thanks for the info everybody. ;-)

Have the battery holder contacts come away from the pcb, common problem on the Vectra b's and Astra G's. That would mimick a failed battery and therefore it not working.

^ That happened to my Astra G key. The battery holder was starting to come away from the pcb. Found a guy on ebay who replaced the battery holder and both microswitches for a tenner and it has been fine ever since.

I did think of the battery contacts but I bent them upwards to make sure they made a good connection. I cant remember the year I will need to wait till Im back in work tomorrow.
