Help me root/install rom on S2 please.

Hey guys, my phone hasn't been working properly lately and it was suggested here that I try and re install firmware so I figured I'd try a Jelly Bean ROM.

I really don't know a lot. First I downloaded Clockworkmod from the playstore and tried to download cyanogen 10 but it repeatedly failed to install.

It's present on my phone at the moment, I see it when I boot into clockwork recovery and look through the contents of the phone.

I thought maybe if I used Odin on the computer and used Siyah S2 6.05 Kernel then booted into recovery and installed Cyanogen 10 from the sd card that it might work but I get locked on the boot screen.

What am I doing wrong?

Edit - Sorry I cannot see Cyanogen on the phone but Slim i9100g 4.2.2 build 6

Have you wiped the cache partition and Dalvik cache in Recovery before flashing? I recently flashed my S2 with NeatROM Lite by flashing CWM using ODIN but I did a full wipe before flashing the zip and gapps.
