help me spec

hi i'm upgrading my pc sometime around june/july, i have a spec i think is good but would like advice if it can be improved for around the same price, im thinking of keeping my current case, psu and hdds

here is the spec i had in mind

Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Extreme
Processer: Intel Core i7 930
CPU Heatsink: Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B
Memory: Patriot Viper 6GB
Graphics Card: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870 XXX
Optical Drive 1: Sony Optiarc AD-7240S
Optical Drive 2: Sony Optiarc AD-7240S
Hard Drive 1: Kingston SSDNow V+ Series 128GB

The i7 isn't exactly necessary, but given your budget it is affordable and give you flexibility so that you can upgrade your CPU or add a second card in crossfire in the future.

Obviously, if you are buying in the summer then ask for a new spec around then as the market will have changed.

will the market change that much

There are rumours of a 5890 release.

Also, the exchange rate of the $ vs £ may continue to change. If it carries on its current course - things will get more expensive as the pound weakens.

Also, there are 6 core AMD chips incoming, which could compete well with i7 chips.

hopefully the exchange rate will improve making it cheaper, sounds like interesting few months ahead
