Hiya guys,
Kinda want some input on what to do with around £150 worth of cash :D. Current specs:
A64 3200+
2gb GEIL Value
GF6600LE 512mb
2x 200gb Maxtor drives
Soon to be (lol) MSI SLI Mobo
TV Card

Anyway, the shortlist:
*Upgrade processor- Can get a 3700+ well within budget.
*New GFX- Only Nvidia considered, 7800 prob MM or similar.
*Raptor- Already one of the first 5 on game maps & boot times aren't much of a prob, so less happy to spend here.
*Get a Lian-Li V1000+

As of the moment, I feel the PC is perfectly adequate but would kinda like to be able to crank up a few things here & there. The 512mb of VRAM is a need, used for some stuff with large numbers of ineficiant 2048 textures (Details on request ;) )
I couldn't give a monkeys really about the sound quality, sounds fine to me so have not looked any further & don't really think an X-Fi would be worth it for the frame rate increases.

Any thoughts on where to put this cash?- Not quite sure how CPU limited the current setup is, especially as theres no clocking ATM (Waiting for the new mobo)

Cheers

The PC is a general useage rig, more games than anything.
GFX must be Nvidia, as I also use Linux extensively.

Well myself, id upgrade the GFX or the CPU .. which ever you think you'd like msot, because they wll both have to be upgraded in the next 2 years or so. If i was using it for games, id get the GFX to keep it smooth, doesnt matter how long it takes to load :p

get the 3700 and get a gfx card a bit later? sell the 6600 and add some more cash for the 7800 GT or something?

Trouble is I dunno :p
Its one of those cases where there are two things, neither of which can be decided between!

get the 3700+, and sell your 6600 or something, add some cash and get a better card? If it fits in budget (MM).
