I've been looking at getting a new phone as my contract is about to run out and I saw the following T-Mobile deal through Quidco (additional £80 cashback!) which looks pretty good!

Thing is, on here it states "Internet Usage" but doesnt say what the limit is!?!?!

Then there is this page:

Now this seems to indicate that my deal would have internet usage subject to the fair usage policy as the tarrif is less than £25 p/m (which is more than enough for me anyway!) unless I select the internet booster as my free booster! Ideally I'd want the unlimited landline booster as I use the phone more than the internet!

Can anyone confirm if I'm understanding this correctly??

Also, does anyone know how the unlimited landline calls booster works? I assume any calls to landlines would simply not come out of my 300 minutes? (as opposed to the 300 minutes being used up first and then landline calls becoming free??)

Thanks....

I think its basically saying your data cap will be 500mb, if you go over the 500mb things such as video streaming will be suspended until the beginning of your next billing period but general browsing will not be restricted.

You are also correct regarding the Landline Booster.

i pay for the extra internet booster and on the whole even with a full signal i find the net very slow at browsing but fast enough on downloads....getting 1mb- 2mb but browsing is what most people use it for.

This.

If you go over the 500mb limit you are restricted to http at bobbins speeds and are subject to extreme traffic control (3gp won't load, bunch of other stuff restricted, don't expect to be able to do anything but 0.facebook.com etc...)

Thanks for the clarification guys! Looks to be a decent deal, just need to have a proper look at the handset now but it seems to get generally good reviews from what I've seen!

I do remember reading something about T-Mobile restricting the speed of their internet until you ring up and complain and they remove the cap and things improve!?!?! - Has anyone got any experience of this?

This is the difference between web'n'talk and web'n'talk+. I think it's mostly a problem for those who buy deals from 3rd party websites/shops.

It was previously a problem when buying from 3rd parties. I hear now though its wide spread even when buying from t-mobile themselves, but in that case the terms should state 3G as oppose to merely internet or data.

Hmmm, bit worried now!

As per the pic above it just states "Internet" use as opposed to 3G - does this mean I wouldnt qualify for getting the quicker speed?

Aye My Tmobile speeds have been shoddy at best for quite a while.

When we first got them could pull 7Mb+ from them easy, now lucky with a few hundred k :(

At first thought it was because HSDPA had been disabled on my sim, phoned them up and they denied this >.>
