I'm going to have my first sli setup but the cards are gonna be running at 8x both so is this going to have a improvement at all in comparison to a 680i or 780i running them in sli
the cards im going to be using are 8800gts 512mb

Not much difference imho. Should still see a nice big boost in games that support SLI.
