Could somebody give me some words of wisdom please. I have bought the system off my cousin (mentioned him last week). Only problem I've got is that it's AMD and I'm used to playing with INTEL and I know it's a different set-up with Hyper-Transport etc... It's a 4600x2. Could somebody give me an idea of a decent 'clock' and how I can achieve this? Any help would be gratefully received( voltage, dividers, anything else you can think of). Many thanx in advance. Sorry forgot to mention it's an ABIT KN9 -SLI M.B.

it should at least do 2.6 / 2.7Ghz with ease.

AMD X2s 939 stock:
FSB: 200Mhz
Hyper Transport: 1Ghz (*5)
Vcore: 1.35-1.4V
RAM: DDR400

Intel C2Ds stock:
FSB: 266Mhz
Quad-pumped FSB: 1.066Ghz (*4 fixed)
Vcore: 1.25V (i think)
RAM: DDR2 533

The only difference really is the hyper transport, which you should always keep below 1Ghz on most mobos, so you will need to set the HTT multiplyer to *4 (800Mhz) or *3 (600Mhz) when you overclock. The rest follow the same principles.

u mean socket AM2??

Yes same rules apply, just make sure the HTT is below 1Ghz.

Forgot how the DDR2 speed is calculated on AM2 though...
