Hi all, we bought a wireless router over a year ago, and I can remember setting it up and everything, but after having no problems with it really for a long time now i've just forgotten the log on details for it and can't seem to locate the manuals or anything that must have come with the thing.

Recently my Steam has decided it's not fun to connect anymore, and it seems the problem might be down to my DMZ settings on the router, but I obviously can't connect to the settings page anymore due to forgetting the login details. Steam never used to have a problem connecting to the net but apparently thats the level of service we should expect from valve.

I've done an "ipconfig" to find out my routers ip address, and it's listed as :

192.168.1.254

when I try to access it through IE it obviously wants the login details, i've tried like admin/password and similar default ones but to no avail.

The router itself doesn't have any manufacturer name on it or model number which makes searching for info on it nearly impossible, I even tried to enter the serial numbers that were on the stickers on the bottom of it into google but nothing.

Serial numbers :

AR3C00507
00E984D3E4E

There is a small reset switch on the back of the router which can be pushed with a pin or similar, but i'm loathe to attempt this while not knowing the default page login details and risking re-enabling DMZ for my computer coz it caused all kinds of problems upon initial setup.

help! :O

try epicrouter and password.
or did you change it at all? if so do the reset and it should go back to original settings

I managed to connect to Steam by changing my IP Address on the network to 192.168.1.10 rather than 192.168.1.1 which was assigned to it by default. one thing I wasn't sure how to find out was the DNS servers but I just copied the numbers from the connection properties window when it was connected and they seemed to work when I entered the address in manually.

I then found out you can do ipconfig /all and it tells you some extra stuff, so i've learnt a little ;)
