HELP Need to retrieve Data I'm in the SHI*

HELP

Hi please help or I am in deep shi* !!!

I have a Synology DiskStation with a 250G IDE drive fitted

I have sold the Synology Disk Station 101J and removed the IDE drive, I have fitted the IDE drive to a Akasa external encloser. Now the information on the hard drive is very important to me.

I thought I could just fit into the Akasa and then plug it into the USB port and bobs your uncle


But no I have followed the instructions and it says the following

Control panel
Administrative Tools
Computer Management
Disk Management

Now I can see the drive labeled as disk 3 but it seems to be split into 2

Now as you can see I have 232GB how the hell do I access my information on there as it wont asign a drive letter. The only option I have is to delete the partition.

Please please help

Well I have now deleted the 512mb partition and now that section is Unallocated the only option I have for the 232GB is to delete the partition I can not assign a drive letter or open it
 
synology use the ext3 (iirc) format. You will need drivers before you can access the info (assuming you havent deleted anything important.

ext2/3 drivers - these should allow you to atleast read from the disk

Listen m8 thankyou very much, yes I have now been able to assign a drive letter and I am now copying the information to my D drive, I can then re-format the external drive and copy the information back onto so that Vista will then see it
