Help needed: algae in my system?

So my 3 week old WC system seems to have algae in the reservoir. Some foam with green stuff has developed on the top of the water level and when i tried to pick it up with a tower, the color was green. I have attached a picture:

It is not easy to see the green as this is a phone camera with flash.

I am using Mayhems pure H20 with anticorrosive liquid and mayhems biocide. Three weeks ago I put 1 drop (for 1 litre of fluid currently in my loop) and last week i put another one seeing this foam. Now I tried the PH indicators that are provided with the biocide bottle. When I put it inside the foam, the colour is dark green (around 8+ PH but when I put it on the other side of the reservoir the PH is about 7). Today I put 4 drops and 10 minutes later there is only half of the foam. The foam seems to "prefer" the reservoir walls, as it is always stuck on the plexi and never tries to float away. NOTE: I DO USE THE COVER ON THE TOP OF THE RES!!! just removed it for the pic!

Can you please help me determine my problem?

Here is a pic of my system 3 weeks ago:

Tonight I am leaving home for three weeks. Should I leave the WC loop as is or empty it due to this algae issue?

Thank you for any answers. Sorry for the huge pics, just noticed they are like that :S not used to uploading pics.

Not sure what could be causing it but it should be ok until you get back. As soon as you do rinse as much as you can with el cheapo de ionised or distilled water and hope it improves when you re-fill with your chosen coolant. :(

If you do empty it, keep a small amount in a container. Mayhems may want a sample to see what the issue is.

Can't say I ever had an issue with deionised water and Mayhems biocide though.

What do you mean you put anti-corrosive liquid. What anti-corrosive liquid did you use. It will not be algue as the biocide will prevent that unless you neutralize it with some nasty stuff. Its sounds to me as 1 you put to much of what ever you are using in and this has caused you the issue, this is a common mistake with new people to water cooling adding too much product into a loop thinking more is better when in fact its the other way around, less it much better.

I used Fesser 50ml anti-corrosive. The product mentions 50ml will treat 2 liters so i put half of it.

For the first 10 days there was absolutely no issue with an sort of foam/algae in my reservoir. Then one day I understood that there is still air in my rads so I kept shaking the case in all directions to force the air out. The result was that the whole EK X-RES100 tube got emptied so I had to put more water. I am pretty much convinced that the air pocket in that 280mm was infected as it is since then that my reservoir developed foam with a green tint. But anyway, I will flush my loop, rinse all the components with CLR and vinegar and fill it again and we will see.

did you wash out your components before using them?

ive heard that the flux and stuff in the rads can be a greenish colour

feser. ..... need i say more ... haha only joking. you should never mix biocide with that stuff as they are two totally different products and you may get a unwanted reaction. Feser use toxic labeled substances (check there msds sheets) in there products which we don't recommend.

If I remember chemistry classes right, green = copper oxide? Maybe pull blocks apart just to give them a check over?
