Hi Motors,

My father in law has a 1993 Mitsubishi Chariot 2ltr diesel, which he imported from Japan, it's the same model the UK Space Wagon. He's disabled and had it adapted with hand controls and a hoist to accommodate his scooter.

The hydraulic valve lifters are knackered and we can't source replacements. The local indie garage that diagnosed the fault can't source them. I've trawled the web looking for them, and he's considering resorting to getting them manufactured by an engineering firm if they can do it.

I appreciate it's a very, very old car, but it's in great condition and he loves it, please can anyone direct me to somewhere that can source these parts?

Thanks

EDIT: looks like the OEM part is
MD072177

Auto doc seem to have Ridex pattern part for ~£5.

this is just be googling where I usually go for parts on Hondas so do get a second opinion if you can.

Are you sure it’s a diesel?

Thanks for your quick response. Yes it's a diesel and the ones you linked to relate to a gasoline engine.

I'll keep looking on that site though.

You’re overlooking the option that appears to be the universal solution to all engine problems these days - K swap it :p

You might have better results searching against the engine (quick look suggests its a 4d68) as they will have been used all over the world, though you may have to import them from aus/usa otherwise a local breaker might have a car with the same engine you can snaffle them from.

Bang on, engine is a 4d68, he's just emailed me the V5. Looking in partsouq the engine does appear not to have hydraulic lifters but screw adjusters, as @Jonnycoupe said.

I'll do some more digging, thanks everyone.
